Release order or story order?

In story order, two entries come before Season 1. Season 2's first arc, Hidden Inventory / Premature Death, is set in spring 2006, when Gojo and Geto were students. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 runs from November 2016 to December 2017, and Season 1 starts in June 2018 ^{official site, Japanese Wikipedia}. The manga tells the 2006 story as a flashback in the middle of the series ^{Shueisha, volume 8}, and the anime kept that order, so release order is the better first watch.

When to watch Jujutsu Kaisen 0

After Season 1. The last episode of Season 1 announced the film ^ANN, which opened in Japan on December 24, 2021 and in the US and UK on March 18, 2022 ^{ANN, ANN}. It works as a starting point too: Anime News Network's This Week in Anime says "it's perfectly fine for someone to jump into it with no context" ^ANN. Whichever you pick, don't skip it: the first Culling Game episodes pit Itadori against Okkotsu, the lead of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ^{official site}.

How many seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen are there?

Three seasons with 59 episodes, numbered straight through: Season 1 is episodes 1 to 24 (October 2020 to March 2021), Season 2 is 25 to 47 (July to December 2023) and Season 3 is 48 to 59 (January to March 2026). Season 2 has two arcs, Hidden Inventory / Premature Death (25 to 29) and Shibuya Incident (30 to 47). What is Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution?

An 88-minute theatrical release that combines a special edit of the Shibuya Incident with the first two episodes of Season 3, shown two months before they aired on TV ^{official site, ANN}. It opened in Japan on November 7, 2025, in the UK and Ireland on November 14 and in the US on December 5, 2025 ^{ANN encyclopedia, ANN}. Everything in it is also in Season 2 and Season 3, and it wasn't streaming in the US or UK as of October 25, 2026.

The Hidden Inventory / Premature Death film, released on May 30, 2025, is the same kind of recut: Season 2's five episodes set in 2006, cut into one film ^{official site}.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4: release date

Season 4, The Culling Game Part 2, was announced right after the Season 3 finale on March 26, 2026 ^Crunchyroll. A teaser on June 19, 2026 named Takeru Sato, Season 3's assistant director, as director and said the anime is in production, but gave no release window ^ANN. A teaser visual followed on August 29, 2026, again with no date ^anime.com. As of October 25, 2026, there's no release date.

Where the anime stops in the manga

Gege Akutami's manga ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2018 to September 30, 2024, and is finished: 271 chapters in 30 volumes, plus the separate prequel volume 0 ^{ANN, Wikipedia chapter list}. VIZ's English edition is complete too; volume 30 came out on May 12, 2026 ^VIZ.

Japanese Wikipedia gives the Season 2 ranges ^{Japanese Wikipedia}. Season 1's last episode, "Accomplices", shares its title with chapter 63, and Season 2's episode 30 takes its title from chapter 64 ^{ComicBook.com, Wikipedia}. Bored Panda and Sportskeeda start Season 3 at chapter 138 instead; Sportskeeda says the Shibuya finale already used scenes from chapter 137 ^Sportskeeda.

Season 3's last episode, "Sendai Colony", covers the Sendai Colony chapters, which end with chapter 180 at the close of volume 20. Volume 21 opens with chapter 181, as Hakari and Panda head for the Tokyo No. 2 Colony, so that's where you start reading ^{Wikipedia, chapter list, VIZ, Shueisha, Bored Panda}. That leaves 91 chapters for Season 4 and beyond.
