Black Clover filler list: the episodes to skip and the ones to keep
Black Clover has 18 filler episodes out of 170, about 11%: 29, 66, 68, 82, 123–125, 131, 134–135, 142–149. Skip them and you won't miss any of the manga's story, though episode 131 and the Devil Banishers arc, 142 to 148, are worth keeping: Anime News Network's reviewer praised both.
Black Clover episodes by type
The counts come from Anime Filler List: 124 manga canon, 7 mixed, 21 anime canon and 18 filler Anime Filler List. That's 152 episodes to keep. The arcs and their ranges come from the official site's arc list official site, Wikipedia. Mixed episodes pair adapted chapters with scenes written for the anime. In episode 12, for example, Anime News Network's reviewer checked the manga and found the whole second half was written for the anime ANN. So don't skip them.
Anime canon means an original story that fits around the manga without contradicting it. Episode 13 is one: it gives Klaus and Mimosa screen time before their proper introduction, and the same reviewer said he'd have believed it came from the manga ANN. Episodes 55 and 56 (the Fanzell two-parter) adapt a Black Clover novel ANN. You can skip anime canon if you only want the manga plot, but it isn't counted as filler here.

Filler worth keeping
- The Devil Banishers arc, episodes 142–148: An anime-only story about ordinary townspeople who are still reeling from an earlier attack. ANN's reviewer praised how "straight and serious the matter is played" and called it "the series' best to date."AFL, ANN, ANN
- Asta and Yuno's trip home, episode 131: Asta and Yuno make their first proper visit to Hage Village in a long while. ANN's reviewer called it "one of the most important episodes in the whole series to date" for showing how far the two have come.AFL, ANN

How to use this list
Watch the arcs in order and leave out only the numbers on the skip line. Keep the mixed episodes, since part of each one is the main story, and keep anime canon unless you want the manga plot alone. Most of the filler sits between episodes 130 and 157, where Anime News Network's reviewer said the show was killing time so it wouldn't catch up to the manga AFL, ANN.
What the filler episodes are
- Recaps: episodes 29, 66, 123 and 124 replay earlier scenes, with only a little new animation ANN, ANN, ANN.
- Comedy breaks: episode 68 stretches the Star Festival side story, episode 82 strings together Petit Clover chibi shorts, and episode 135 is a second singles mixer ANN, ANN, ANN.
- Side stories: episodes 125, 131 and 134 are one-off stories (a monster chase, a trip home and a party), and 142 to 149 form a full anime-only arc with a follow-up episode ANN, ANN, ANN, ANN.
Season 2 and the movie
Season 2 began on October 3, 2026, numbered from episode 171 ANN, Wikipedia. Anime Filler List hadn't classified any of its episodes by October 26, so this page covers the first 170 AFL.
